Local Theater To Offer Free Holiday Flick The Next Two Saturdays
The folks at Black Bear Cinemas in Orono are offering folks a special gift for the next two weekends. In the spirit of giving, they'll be showing a couple of holiday movies... for free! They hope families can enjoy some fun together during a typical season of hustle and bustle!
According to their Facebook Page, "The Polar Express" will be shown this Saturday morning (December 14th) at 10:15 AM. And the next weekend, "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" will be shown at the same time.
"Doors open at 9:45 AM for the 10:15 AM movie. No presale or reservations are necessary. Anyone interested can just show up to both movies.
Black Bear Cinemas management started this tradition of showing a free holiday movie last year.
"From the beginning, our goal has been to be a local theater that focuses on the community. We feel very supported by our community and we felt free holiday movies would be a good way to give back while getting everyone together for the holidays!
We also realize that even though we have the most affordable prices in the area, going to the movies can be expensive, especially for large families. This will give anyone who can’t normally go to the movies or who just can’t go as often as they would like an opportunity to come see a couple of great classics on the big screen!"
With so many obligations and activities pulling families in different directions during the Christmas season, what a cool way to come together for a little holiday cheer.
Black Bear Cinemas is locally owned and has been finding unique ways to take the movie-going experience to the next level, by going all-out to decorate their lobby, reaching out to local artists to create cool themed theaters, and offering special showings of popular movies that aren't in the theaters anymore.
