If you’ve ever eaten at the Clewley Farm in Eddington or Fore Street in Portland you are in for a surprise.

As one of our favorite breakfast places, we were sad to see the Clewley Farm Restaurant close down last year. So imagine our delight to see that it is reopened with new owners and a new name Heritage on 9.  Still not to be believed is that their head chef Matt Crate, once cooked in my favorite restaurant in Portland, Fore Street and I can’t wait to go. According to the BDN Matt describes the food as, “elevated comfort food.”

The new owners Sally Harrison and Terri Grant have gutted and redesigned the interior and hope to create an community gathering place in their new establishment complete with bar, function room and soon-to-be ice cream and farm stand. It's located at 999 Main Rd in Eddington, just off Route 9. We can’t wait to see what they have done and to sample some of Chef Crates' creations like:

  • bacon cheeseburgers
  • lobster rolls
  • spaghetti and meatballs
  • Caesar salads
  • crab cakes
  • chicken wings
  • steaks
  • meatloaf
  • French toast
  • Omelettes
  • eggs made to order
  • pancakes
  • house-made corned beef hash
  • apple puff pancake
