We Finally Know What’s Moved Into The Old ‘China Light’ In Bangor

I can't even remember how long China Light was there...

I was just sitting down to write this, and I was trying to think of how long China Light was open in Bangor, and it had to be way over 30 years, maybe even approaching 40. Maybe over 40, I'm not sure. But I know it's where I exclusively got Chinese food all through high school if I was out with my friends.

Then of course, after decades in business, they seemed to close very abruptly. Then, of course, we started to see signs of life in there back in May. And although it was pretty clear another Chinese Restaurant was moving in, no one was sure who it was. Well, now we do... Everyone, meet China Wok, the new eat-in/take-out spot on Broadway.

Location, location, location.

If you think about it from a marketing and branding perspective, it's kind of brilliant to open another Chinese place at 571 Broadway. Top-of-mind consciousness will definitely help people find their way there. Especially those out cruising around looking for food. We all know the place if you've lived in the Bangor area for any amount of time.

Their menu, according to their Facebook page, looks to be pretty standard fare. Pupu platters, sweet & sour chicken, fried rice, moo shu, lo mein, etc. So for fans of China Light, it looks to be basically the same. So if you live in Glenburn and need a quick egg roll fix on the way home, they got you covered.

They're going to be open 7 days a week from 11:00 am - 9:00 pm.

Fun fact: A Google search shows there's also a restaurant called China Wok on Broadway in Bangor, Pennsylvania. Go figure.
