3 Car Crash On The Interstate In Pittsfield, Maine Causes Rush Hour Delays
Authorities are reminding folks who drive to make sure they stay distraction-free after a triple crash occurred, just before rush hour, on the interstate near Pittsfield.
According to the Department of Public Safety, State Troopers were called to Pittsfield in an area along the northbound lane of Interstate 95, just after 4 PM.
"A tractor-trailer truck, operated by Serhii Milchecko, 47, of Nova Scotia was traveling in the travel lane and was rear-ended by a Kia sedan, operated by a 17-year-old from Winslow. A Chevrolet Malibu, operated by 35-year-old Desiree Chenette, of Lincoln then struck the rear of the Kia. Both sedans sustained significant damage."
State Police say that the drivers of both cars sustained only minor injuries and were allowed to leave the scene after being checked out by Emergency Services personnel.
Traffic in that area was delayed, all through rush hour. Authorities said traffic was restored to its normal flow just before 8 PM.

Further south, in Falmouth, a tractor-trailer crashed on an off-ramp of I-295 and blocked the roadway in that area, causing traffic to be backed up there, too.
The driver of that vehicle was issued 2 summonses after being taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
