Brewer Man Faces Charges After Parking-Lot Standoff With Police
A Brewer man faces charges after causing as standoff Thursday night near the Village Green Motel.
Gary Green, 63, faces charges of criminal threatening and terrorizing after police say he refused to drop what appeared to be an AK-47 rifle in the parking lot of the Village Green.
While Green told police the gun was real, it turned out to be a replica.

Green was apprehended after the Bangor Police Department’s Special Response Team "deployed a less lethal impact munition," which caused Green to drop the rifle, according to police.
Green was taken to a hospital for mental health evaluation. He then was taken to Penobscot County Jail.
