You remember Portland's most famous tree, right? Asher Woodworth was arrested one year ago this week for blocking traffic on Congress Street while he pretended to be a tree.

Yes, this really happened. He claimed that it was "art," but the cops, and a lot of angry drivers on Congress Street disagreed. He was arrested, and one year later, has now been charged.

WCSH6 is reporting that Woodworth won't serve jail time or even pay a fine - the judge in his case has agreed to allow him to perform community service to pay off his debt to society.
