Maybe you've seen them hard at work, the people and trucks from Versant Power, replacing aged equipment on Hammond Street and the side streets attached to it.   The crews have been busily at work lately replacing almost 100 utility poles and the electrical wire that's strung from pole to pole.  They've also installed additional protection equipment to limit the number of private homes and businesses in that are should a power outage occur.

Beginning on Tuesday, July 28th, at 3 in the morning, Versant Power will begin the "cutover process" of switching to the new and improved system.  Customers may experience further power interruptions between 3 and 5 that morning.in these areas:  303-554 Hammond St., 17-59 Vernon St., 56 Savage St., 19-21 Wing St., 75 and 80 West Broadway, 91 and 101 Hayford St., and 214-242 Cedar St.

The same process will take place also between 3 and 5 the next morning as well, Wednesday, July 29th, and will effect the following areas:  Webster Avenue North, Elizabeth Avenue, 542 Hammond St., 69-70 and 76 Savage St., 8-145 Webster Ave., 12 and 15 Wing St., 9-32 East St., 8-37 North St., 12-64 West St., 5-44 Munroe St., and 117-118 and 120 Royal St.
