Floyd fans, don't miss this!

The 1972 concert documentary Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii will be shown at Central Gallery in Bangor Sunday evening. The event starts at 7 and is free for Central Gallery members, or $3 for non-members.

Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii was filmed in 1971 at the ancient Roman amphitheater in Pompeii, Italy. The Floyd set up their regular touring gear in the location and played only for camera crews and recording devices. Yep, no audience!

The idea for film came to director Adrian Maben while he was vacationing in Pompeii. Maben lost his passport, so he retraced his steps back to the amphitheater. While walking around the deserted ruins, he found the location to be a perfect backdrop for the sounds of Pink Floyd.

The screening is BYOS, Bring Your Own Seat! Central Gallery is located at 89 Central St. in Bangor.
