Officials with the Maine State Fire Marshal's Office reported Sunday afternoon that Searsmont Assistant Fire Chief Wayne Woodbury passed away Sunday morning at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was being treated for injuries he sustained from the explosion.

"The Office of State Fire Marshal extends its sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the members of the Searsmont Fire Department during this difficult time. The investigation into the Robbins Lumber fire remains ongoing."
