And with good reason. Forecasters are predicting record-setting lows for this upcoming weekend, with the expected windchill that could make it feel like it's 30-40 degrees below zero.

The risk of frostnip and frostbite setting in quickly is high with weather like this.
When facing cold conditions that are that extreme, most people would likely opt to stay inside, if given the choice, where it's warm, and the air doesn't make their face hurt.

But some fans of the outdoors won't let even the riskiest of cold affect their chances to hit the slopes.

Keeping that in mind, at least one local ski mountain is making preparations to scale back a bit this weekend.
Sunday River gave people a heads up on their Facebook Page that they would be keeping an eye on the weather, but are planning for the cold.
They say they plan to reduce lift operations, stating that non-essential lifts will not spin on Saturday. They also mention waiting until a little later in the weekend to adjust operations accordingly with the conditions.
