There are only so many sports that I really like and Motocross is definitely one of them. So imagine how thrilled I was to watch my buddy Craig Colson on the FOX news telling me despite the lack of snow the Annual Paul Bunyan Snocross for this weekend is still on at Bass Park for both Saturday and Sunday.

Crews from Bangor have been hauling in snow from all over town to build the course around the oval track for the two day event. The Bangor CVB reports were that the City of Bangor deserves a big thanks for hauling much of the snow from the airport.

If you have never been it has been described as It's been described as "NASCAR on snow." Snowmobile riders from across the country, and internationally, reaching up to 80 miles an hour and traveling 140 feet in the air. At the races this weekend there will be three classes of snowmobile racing featured during the event and the money raised will benefit the Eastern Maine Community College Scholarship Funds.

This is the second year in a row the ECS Series has come to Bangor.

Tickets for the event are $15.00 per day or $20.00 for a weekend pass. Children 7 and under are admitted free with a paid adult ticket.

So start your engines this weekend Bass Park will be your destination for some winter FUN!
