Firefighters in Brewer responded to an early morning fire in the 500 block of South Main Street on Sunday.
According to the Brewer Fire Department, when firefighters arrived, the building was already quite large.
"First arriving units found heavy fire in the rear of the structure. Crews made an aggressive initial attack and knocked the fire down. Units remained on scene performing an overhaul and searching for hot spots. No injuries have been reported at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation."

Dramatic video taken from nearby shows just how devastating the fire was, and how it truly is a wonder that no one was injured during the blaze.
The owner of the building, Erica Largay Oliver, took to Facebook Monday to express her heartbreak for her tenants, who lost everything in the blaze, and her gratitude to local firefighters for getting them all out of the building safely, stating, "...through all of this, one thing matters most: Every single person made it out safely. Buildings can be rebuilt. Possessions can be replaced. Human lives cannot.
Along with thanking firefighters and community members who have supported her and the tenants, there was one person in particular, she said, who played a key role in saving lives that morning.
"To the passerby that likely saved everyone's life.... I don't have words in my vocabulary to even begin to put together how thankful I am for you. You are an angel on this earth. - She was driving by and saw the smoke and fire that had started on the outside of the building, before the smoke had made it in to set the alarms off... she pulled over and pounded on the doors and screamed to get everyone out... and that time mattered."
Largay went on to urge people to check their smoke detectors to make sure they are working.
The Brewer Fire Department said the recieved mutual aid from many neighboring fire departments, including Bangor, Eddington, Dedham/Lucerne, Orrington, and Holden Fire and Rescue, folks from the Bangor and Holden PD, and the Penobscot Regional Dispatch Center.
