Now that Aaron Frey of Bangor has been appointed Maine's Attorney General, folks in House District 124 will have to vote again.

Frey was re-elected to the House back in November, but declined the position so that he could be Maine's new Attorney General.

According to a Maine.Gov press release, a special election for the Maine House District 124 seat has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 12, 2019.  Governor Janet Mills and Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap signed the proclamation announcing the special election this past Wednesday.

Democrats, Green Independents and Republicans, will now caucus to choose candidates for the seat. Candidate nominations are due to the Office of the Secretary of State by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18.

Whomever wins the special election will serve until December 2020.  More information available by contacting the Elections Division of the Secretary of State at 207-624-7650.
