Shout out to the 207!

Over the last several years, there have been some pretty funny parody songs about our beloved state of Maine, so on this Throwback Thursday, let's take a look back and have a laugh or two.

With everyone waiting things out at home for things to return to normal, a standup comedian named Craig Handley, decided to write a rap tune about Maine. Lobsters, blueberries, Anna Kendrick, Stephen King, and of course, Whoopie Pies are all give a shout out in this ditty about the 207.

Hopefully a trip to OOB, or Bar Harbor is in everyone's future, till then, check out Craig's video and daydream.

Back in 2008, a comedy team by the name of Rhett & Link put together a song and video all about the great state of Maine, called "I Wanna Be Your Maine Man"

Some of the topics in the lyrics include lumberjacks, lobsters, moose and fun facts about lighthouses, the state bird and fish, amongst other tidbits.

A rap video all about our beloved state called "Made In Maine" was created by rapper, dancer, actress and Brewer High School graduate Rachel Caron.

The video was filmed in and around Bangor, and features Paddy Murphy's, Whoopie Pie Cafe, the Bangor Waterfront and, of course, Marden's, among other area landmarks.

In this tongue-and-cheek look at stereotypes about Mainers, Caron and her full-flanneled, lobster-loving friends also play a lot of beer pong, hang outside Stephen King's house and have a wicked snowball fight.

Watch for cameos from Maine rapper Spose and the Marden's Lady, Birdie Googins. You'll see a lot of familiar faces. We did!

“MAINEIAC” bills itself as the offficial Maine rap music video, from an artist called Jacob Buckshot, on a fake record label called Wicked Good Records. The hook of the song in the chorus “Ayuh, ayuh” will more than likely be stuck in your head all day….sorry
