Thanksgiving Dinner Costs 20% More This Year
Thankfully, Thanksgiving isn’t one of the most expensive dinners to pay for. Think about the cost of red meat compared to turkey.
However, facts are facts and if you haven’t finished shopping for what you’ll need for dinner on Thursday, you’ll see most items are up in cost, especially the turkey this year.
However, after the pandemic and those smaller gatherings and some Mainers kids not coming home, well we can be thankful things seem to be back to status quo and Thanksgiving will be Thanksgiving like we have always known it.
Family time. Football. Crips cold weather. And oh that food.
All that food and hopefully you and your family will be feasting like there will neve be another meal.
And if you are shopping tomorrow, maybe get those stretchy pants for next time.
Q106.5 Facebook page asked with the rise in Thanksgiving food prices if you had to skip a side dish, what would you skip, and the results no great surprise.
Last the page was checked nobody had picked skip the pie.
Green bean casserole or sweet potatoes were the most often names items to skip due to budgets this year.
On Thursday may the love of family and the tradition of Thanksgiving provide gratitude and a great day for you and your family.
Personally the only think I can think of that I’m not thankful for is that we are going out to dinner, and that means no leftovers the next day.
But I bet we survive. And hopefully nobody serves up politics as dinner conversation around your table.
Last word: Please know that we are grateful for you and wish you the happiest of Thanksgivings.
