What started off as an attempt to catch people with outstanding warrants ended up in a firefight and ultimately the arrest of six individuals in Washington County on Friday.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Department, deputies ended up at a residence at 71 Augusta Drive in Stueben on February 20th, with the intention of doing a warrant check, when they noticed items used in administering drugs. Having spotted paraphernalia, deputies had probable cause to search the home. They say they found the occupants, 42-year-old Corey Perry and 36-year-old Laura Anderson, with drugs, and promptly arrested the pair and took them to the Washington County Jail. Both Perry and Anderson were charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.
