Yes, I'm sure that he'd like a burger from the grill.

Wow, what a neat early morning visitor to the back deck for a family in Sullivan today!  A big 'ol Maine black bear!  Watch as tubby gets the nerve to venture up onto the deck railing to munch on the pittance that the bird feeder has to offer.

Maine black bears can weigh as much as 600 lbs.  Man, that's a lot of birdseed!  They can also measure between 4 and 5 feet in length, according to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife's website.  So it's advisable to leave these guys alone, especially if they have cubs in tow.

Actually, this is probably a very young bear, maybe a year or two old.

Now if you don't want bears rummaging around your house, obviously it's a good idea to either bring the bird feeder in, or, make it high enough so that fatso can't reach it.  Put the garbage under cover as well.  Bears don't carry screwdrivers.

But this bear seems pretty harmless and more than likely will be welcomed back by this Sullivan family who appreciated his visit.  Just make sure that the door to the kitchen is shut while preparing any sort of picnic basket, because Mr. Ranger Sir has told us that bears seem to like those too.
