The late Mel Blanc was born on this date back in 1908!

Growing up in the sixties and seventies, it was hard to miss his work on television.  Weekday afternoons and especially Saturday mornings were devoted to watching such great characters as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird and Sylvester the Cat, Yosemite Sam and Foghorn Leghorn!

In later years the "Man of a thousand voices" worked for Hanna-Barbera and provided the voices of Barney Rubble on The Flintstones and Mr. Spacely on The Jetsons.  He was also the original voice of Woody Woodpecker!
