Inquiring minds want to know!

For years when I leave work and head over to my parents' house on the east side of Bangor, I always take the same turn, but for what seems like at least two years, the street I take is inoperable, due to construction.

Come to think of it, I also used that street to go get a sandwich at Legacy, and also to get my hair cut! Now of course there are other ways to get to where I’m going in that area, but it kinda bugs me that roadblocks have been up for so long. And it never fails, just about every time I go to that part of town, my instinct is to take that turn, even though I am fully aware that I can’t use it!

The area in question is at Hancock Street and the very beginning of Essex Street. Luckily, people that live in the apartment complex known as The Terraces, are able to at least get into the facility using that street, but if you want to take it all the way up to State, you are out of luck.

I went and checked out the City of Bangor website, but came up empty on any info regarding this issue.

All this may seem a little nit-picky, but the “road closed” signs have been up at least since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.

Maybe one day I will be able to cruise up that way again, only time will tell.
