The other day I was a conversation with a very nice professional gentleman who manages his own franchise business.  He was telling me that his franchise corporate heads use text all the time to communicate what is happening and what is coming up.  To which I of course said..."but you never text while driving right?" And this intelligent driven family man sheepishly answered that he does. I almost reached out and cuffed him. However, I gave him a lecture that I had probably no right to and would have felt in remiss and unloving not to.  You know the drill, your family needs you, your kids will be driving soon, picture yourself explaining to your 6 year old why answering that text was more important than the life of the person you hit and so on.

Thankfully there is a new movement to help us all be responsible in helping those driving to keep their eyes on the road. If you text and you've seen hashtag X pop up in a text and asked yourself what it was about? Here you go, the hashtag X is a quick way people can let friends know that they're getting behind the wheel -- and won't be texting while driving. I LOVE IT!!!

Getting people to use hashtag X and put down their phones in the car is part of AT&T's campaign "It Can Wait. The program has so far gotten more than 5 million pledges not to text while driving.
