Hampden was a great spot to grow up.

When I was just a wee lad, I lived in Hampden. Well actually, I graduated from high school there. So I know a bit about how things shake out there, I guess. When I was a kid there were a few big houses, but its reputation as a bedroom town for the wealthy has really only grown over the years.

That's not to say that Hampden is full of wealthy elites; there's plenty of blue-collar awesomeness that makes the town just as rich. But clicking on any given real estate site will show that there are plenty of biiiig houses for sale. But there's one that kind of takes the cake right now, above all others.

This house on Kennebec Road is not one that everyone can afford.

We're all used to seeing some big price tags since the pandemic real estate frenzy began, but this one is coming in at a whopping $1.6 million dollars. But with all the amenities it has and the huge plot of land that it sits on, the price doesn't seem unreasonable at all. It's a big house meant for someone that can take care of it.

The house itself, listed by Adria Blake Yock from Realty of Maine, is more than 9,000 square feet, and the land is 40.5 acres. So other than what little you can be seen from the road, you'll feel about as private as you'd want.

It's got 7 bedrooms and 5 baths, plenty of garage space, and a sweet pool area. It even has a whole gaming area downstairs and is heated with geothermal energy! Did I mention the pond out back that becomes a skating spot?

It's got pretty much everything money could buy, all under one roof, on one property. Sure, it's not something everyone can afford, but it's a heck of a lot more than you'd get in other places. Check out what a million and a half bucks will get you in San Francisco, then decide if this pushes the envelope too hard, hahaha.

Let's check this gorgeous spot out right now...
