All State of Maine offices will be closed today, because of the massive winter storm expected to hit the area.

Governor Paul R. LePage announced the closures early this morning.

“Travel conditions are expected to be treacherous,” said Governor LePage. “I encourage Mainers to stay off the roads and avoid traveling unless it is an emergency. Avoiding unnecessary travel will keep accidents to a minimum and allow state and municipal road crews to safely go about their work.”

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for our area throughout the day, and lasting until 7 a.m. Friday.  Snow accumulations of 9 to 13 inches are expected in the Bangor area with winds gusting up to 55 mph.
