Slow Your Roll, Spirit Halloween: We’re Not Done With Summer Just Yet!

We're not even into August yet, and already most stores have been stocking their shelves with anxiety-inducing "Back to School" supply displays.

Some places are even busting out the fall decorations already!

If you've been out by the Bangor Mall recently, you may have even seen this tell-tale sign that fall is trying to force its way through the door!

Stop right there!

You get right back into line, Spirit Halloween!

Those of us who live in Maine year-round know that we have a small window of opportunity to enjoy summer.

It's fabulous but it's fleeting. And YOU WILL NOT STEAL THIS FROM US!

Now, if you want to do some spooky summer-themed costumes, that's not a bad idea.

But there will be plenty of time for Pumpkin Spice Everything season...

There will be endless opportunities for us to sit all cozy by the fire and to sip hot beverages while wearing boots with our besties. After all, our fall and winter last for month and months and months!

But most of us are still thinking about sunscreen, bug spray, and how to keep cool on these gloriously gorgeous summer days.

We're not interested in finding a sexy potato costume or a sultry penguin outfit quite yet.

There will be plenty of time for that in a few months.

Don't get me wrong, I get that the store needs time to prep its merchandise and employees for the upcoming holiday season. Heck, Spirit Halloween hasn't even released they opening date yet, just that they're "Coming Soon."

But having to pass by the constant visual reminder that the end of summer will be fast approaching is almost too much!

Come on now! Let us enjoy the dog days of summer just a little bit longer before you throw fall in our faces!
