Third Arrest Made In Connection To A Death In Cushing Earlier This Month
A total of three people, so far, have been arrested in connection with the death of a man from Waldoboro earlier in the month.

Last week, the State's Chief Medical Officer identified the victim as 45-year-old Kyle MacDougall of Waldoboro.
First arrested was 41-year-old Mark Gagne, after authorities processed the scene at 843 River Rd. in Cushing. State Police say Gagne was charged with Hindering Apprehension and Abuse of a Corps.

Then 38-year-old Jason Hewett of Augusta was the second person arrested, following a police chase that began along Route 2, moved along Route 3 in Augusta and ended in a ditch outside of Nadeau Chiropractic and Wellness Center. While Hewett initially barricaded himself in his car, he did end up surrendering peacefully. He was charged with Eluding and Officer, Domestic Assault and Manslaughter in connection with the Cushing death.
Department of Public Safety Spokesperson, Shannon Moss, says that a third person has now been arrested in connection with the case.
"On Thursday, July 25, 2024, at approximately 1:30 pm, Detectives with Major Crimes Unit Central arrested 39-year-old John Flower of Rockland. Flower was charged with Hindering, a class B felony, related to the Cushing Death Investigation. Flower was being held at the Knox County Jail on unrelated charges at the time of his arrest. "
Moss says Flower is expected to make his first appearance in Knox County Superior Court on Friday.
Authorities have not yet release the cause of death in this case.
