Pittsfield Man Arrested After Attempted Carjacking, Police Say
Police in Pittsfield say a man tried to steal a vehicle Sunday at a local gas station, while a woman was sitting inside of it.
Thomas Allen, 18, of Pittsfield, was arrested and charged with two counts of Attempted Robbery, Criminal Threatening, and Violation of Bail Conditions stemming from an incident that took place on Sunday, March 2nd.
Pittsfield Chief of Police, Vincente Morris, says the department was called out over the weekend to the report that someone was trying to steal a car.
"Officer Lowell responded to AE Robinson for a report of a Robbery and an attempted motor theft. The female driver was still in the vehicle at the time of the attempted theft. It was alleged that the male suspect threatened the use of a firearm at the time of these crimes."

Vincente went on to say that once police identified Allen as the suspect, they went with members of the Maine State Police to Allen's home where he was taken into custody without incident.
Allen was out on bail from an earlier arrest on the 21st of February os 2025, where it's alleged he filed a false public report.
He is, once again, being held at the Somerset County Jail without bail.
