
Bangor Man Arrested After Allegedly Striking Victim’s Face With Back End Of Bow
In what could be called a literal case of 'buyer beware,' one local man is injured, another is in jail after the attempted sale of a weapon went horribly wrong, police say.
A man from Bangor was arrested Sunday evening after allegedly striking another victim in the face with the back side of a compound bow. Ouch.

Katy England, Public Engagement Specialist with the Bangor Police Department, says the altercation took place just after 8:30 Sunday, at a home on Sidney Street. Police responded to a call for help from someone stating they had been injured by a bow and found a man with significant wounds to his face upon arrival.

"Officers determined that he had been injured when another man, later identified as Scott Talbot, 55, of Bangor, who had come over to sell a compound bow, allegedly struck him in the face with the end of the weapon. Officers attempted to locate Talbot but were unsuccessful that day. The next day, March 30, 2026, officers located Talbot and the bow that was involved and placed Talbot under arrest. "

Talbot has been charged with aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.
The injuries the victim sustained, although serious, were not life-threatening. He was taken to the hospital and treated for his wounds.
