New Starbucks On Broadway in Bangor To Open This Friday

It's been in the works since the fall of 2022, and this week, the plan will become a reality.

The new Starbucks, which was constructed as part of a 3-tenant new build that occupies a double-lot, #685 and #699 on Broadway in Bangor will open for business Friday.

Doors to the new cafe will open at 5:30 AM, as will the new drive-thru.

Folks have been anticipating the addition of this Starbucks since it was announced a couple of years ago.

Construction of the new cafe was slightly delayed due to supply and personnel issues stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

David Warren, the communications manager for the city of Bangor, says while the plans for the Broadway build originally included the construction of an Orange Theory gym and some sort of walk-in-care medical clinic. Orange Theory pulled out and there haven't been any other permits issued for other tenants yet. So, as it stands, only the space holding the cafe will open on Friday.

The new build on Broadway is also the location of another EV (Electric Vehicle) charging station, which is set up right behind the Starbucks. Warren says the charging station has already been operational for a couple of months.

"That particular charging station on Broadway was done privately by the property owner/developer there."

The Broadway location will be the third Starbucks location in Bangor, joining the original cafe on Bangor Mall Blvd. and the cafe within the Target store on Longview Drive.
