Grand Opening This Weekend For New Bangor Restaurant
At the beginning of the month, we brought you the news that the long-time Bangor eatery, Tesoro, had been sold and the new owners planned to open up a new restaurant in the Harlow St. location.

The time has come this weekend, for the grand opening of Bangor's newest restaurant, Lavano's.
New owners Briar and Dan Jipson, from Stetson, have been working hard the last two weeks to give the inside of the old restaurant a new coat of paint and an updated look.
And the outside looks a little different now, too, with a new sign outside of the space.
Along with a new paint scheme, they're debuting a new menu!
"We will be showing a sneak peek at our new menu Friday."
The Jipsons say they're excited to bring their recipes for fresh Italian food, including pasta made daily, to the folks in Bangor.
They're holding a Grand Opening this Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM.
Starting Saturday, they will no longer honor Tesoro's gift card, as they will have officially changed businesses, the managers say.
"We wanted to give everyone a chance to use the gift certificates that were sold prior to the business changing hands so we kept the Tesoro’s menu open for a month to give everyone time to use them. As Lavano’s, that is a major profit loss for us but it’s what felt right in our heart to do so no one was out their money. We are still happily accepting the gift certificates until end of business tonight but we can not (as we have no way to) accepting gift cards."
The new menu will also take effect Saturday.
