New Coffee Shop Going Into Old Brewer Tire Shop Site
The landscape of a popular road in Brewer will look a little different in the not-too-distant future. A building that has stood along Wilson Street for years will be torn down soon, to make room for a new structure.
According to Brewer's Economic Development Director, D’arcy Main-Boyington, the wheels are in motion for a handful of other businesses to set up shop where Sullivan Tire & Auto now stands.
"...There are going to be very significant changes happening at the Sullivan Tire site."
City of Brewer Planning Director, Linda Johns, says among other things, a new coffee shop is one of the businesses folks can expect to open there.
"...The Brewer Planning Board approved with conditions a site plan to remove the existing building at 541 Wilson Street and construct a new 15,286 square foot single-story building with associated site improvements. The proposed building would include a coffee shop plus four additional rental units."
John's says the name of the coffee shop has not yet been released.
What else would you like to see in that spot? What other businesses do you think would be a good fit for Brewer? Is there a new business opening up in your town?
