When I had company up recently from Massachusetts I took them through the Bangor City Forest.  They marveled at how well cared for and well marked it was. They also wished thay had something as close by in Mass to enjoy.  So let's not take for granted how lucky we are to have this little treasure and pitch in.

This Saturday, May 6, Rotarians will be partnering with the Bangor Rec Department to hold a spring cleanup day at Bangor City Forest. The public is welcome to join Club members and Rec Department staff to spruce up and help make trail improvements in time for warm weather use of the City Forest lands.

Volunteers will rally in the parking lot at Tripp Drive, off Stillwater Avenue, at 9 a.m. on May 6 and will work to remove trash and other debris, mend washouts and make other repairs to the trails. This is a kid-friendly activity so entire families are encouraged to come make Bangor City Forest beautiful for everyone’s shared use. Volunteers should wear long pants and appropriate footwear and are welcome to come for all or part of the 2-3 hour project. Tools will be provided.
