Finally!

After virtually everything went "virtual" last year, thanks to Covid-19, things are starting to return to normal. And one thing that will coming back, in-person and in-paw-son (if you will) is the Bangor Humane Society's 28th Annual "Paws On Parade " fundraiser!

This year, not only will you actually be able to walk with your pooch in person, you'll have a new venue in which you and Fido can frolic.

According to the Bangor Humane Society's Director of Development, Kathryn Ravenscraft, this year's event will take place at Husson University.

" We are thrilled about this new partnership and think the Husson University campus will make for one beautiful setting. Masks will be required per CDC guidelines and campus policies."

This year's "Paws On Parade" will take place Saturday October 2nd at 9:00AM. If you want to register to walk, in-person (or virtually, for those of you who cannot make it, or are still a bit shy about getting back into a crowd setting) you can click here!

Ravenscraft says the money raised through the "Paws on Parade" events will go towards helping the thousands of animals the Bangor Humane Society deals with each year.

Historically, those walking with their dogs have often been decked out in matching costumes or athletic gear, and it's been as much as a spectacle for those coming to support participants as it has been fun for those taking part in the walk.

Walkers and dogs of all abilities are encouraged to take part. There is an early-bird discount to those who register before July 1st!
