Benjamin’s Pub To Reopen In Downtown Bangor
It was one of Bangor's best known night spots back in the day. This week, Benjamin's starts a new day.
The remodeled pub at 123 Franklin Street will hold a grand opening on Wednesday, June 5.
Benjamin's new owners are Richard and Mandy Clark. Richard (Clarko) was a night manager at Benjamin's from 1998-2000.
The new owners intend to place their own spin on the classic with a pub atmosphere serving pub foods like burgers, onion rings, nachos, fries, and wings, according to a news release from the city of Bangor. There will also be an old-school arcade game with 61 classic games like Pacman, Donkey Kong, and Galaga.
“We love local businesses. We are very excited to be a part of Downtown. Downtown is thriving and it is great seeing so many businesses fill the area," Mandy Clark said.
A ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening is set for June 5 at 5:00 p.m. at 123 Franklin Street. The public is welcome to attend.
Did you know that a live album was recorded at Benjamin's back in the early 1980s? "Benjamin's After Dark Live" was released in 1981 and featured live performances from local bands Andrea Re And Clouds, Searsmont Street Band, Randy Hawkes' Overtones and Blues Over Easy.
