Authorities say over $50,000 worth of cash and drugs were seized, and a Fairfield man arrested, after an investigation that spanned months and involved multiple local agencies.

The Maine Department of Drug Enforcement says 45-year-old Robert Ruiz of Fairfield was taken into custody on Thursday September 10th, and charged with two counts of Aggravated Trafficking and one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.

They say Ruiz has been under investigation for the past several months after it was suspected he was selling illegal narcotics, including cocaine and fentanyl, from his home on Kelley Street. One authorities had a warrant, they searched the his vehicle and residence.

"Agents and officers seized 134 grams of Cocaine HCL, 90 grams of Fentanyl, 8 grams Cocaine Base and 4 grams of Methamphetamine. Agents also seized 2 firearms, a handgun and a 12-gauge semi auto shotgun. Agents also seized $24,131.00 in suspected drug proceeds and a money counter.The estimated street value of all the seized drugs is $27,000."

Authorities say they expect more arrests to made in connection with this case. At the moment, Ruiz remains at the Somerset County Jail after a judge set his bail at $100,000 cash.

Old Medicine Of The Chugwater Wyoming Drugstore

If you visit the tiny town of Chugwater Wyoming you'll find the newly restored Soda Fountain.

In fact it's Wyoming's oldest soda fountain and malt shot.

It's always worth stopping in for breakfast or lunch, or maybe a shake or malt.

The place was a drug store and soda fountain for the longest time.

Back then soda was actually used to cure an upset stomach.
