Black Widow Spider Finds Its Way To Vacationland In A Package Of Grapes
OMG! Not a spider fan, myself, and I'm certain I would have needed a new pair of pants if this happened to me. I would have number 4'ed myself...if there is a number 4. A Maine woman found a little visitor in grapes yesterday.
According to WGME 13, an OOB woman was making fruit cups for a convenience store when she noticed something that immediately caught her eye. In a bag of grapes, there was a black widow spider (ALIVE)!
Black widow spiders are not native to Maine and clearly this, highly venomous, spider was looking for a little vacation.
The spider has been killed and will be used for educational purposes with the Maine Forest Service’s insect and disease laboratory.
