Brewer Ice Cream Shop To Open Friday & What’s The Deal With 85-Cent Blizzards?
While the weather will leave a bit to be desired at the end of this week, there is still something to look forward to: ice cream!
One of the last holdouts of the ice cream season (with most everyone else but Spencer's Ice Cream opening before now) the Dairy Queen on Wilson Street in Brewer will open up this coming Friday.
A quick call to the store confirmed that they plan to start serving cones at 11 AM!
You may have also heard that during the month of April, participating Dairy Queen stores across the state will be serving up 85-cent Blizzards.
However, there are some things you should know before you pull up in the drive-thru and expect a cup of cool, creamy confection.
It's a little more complicated than that.
Thankfully, the fine folks over at the Dairy Queen on Broadway took to social media this week, posting this explanation to their Facebook Page.
The first takeaway: You're gonna need an app for that.
The second thing you'll want to be aware of is that they're on sale in April, but only for a certain time period.
And third, there's only one discounted blizzard per order. So you can't drive up in a van full of kids and expect each order to only be $0.85!
Again, those special-priced blizzards will only be on sale from Monday, April 10th through Sunday, April 23rd, and only to mobile app users.
