If you get all giddy at the thought of being able to get an up-close-and-personal look at big trucks and machines, you're gonna want to head to Carmel Saturday because you'll not only be able to see them...you can actually touch them!

The Carmel Municipal Parking Lot will be the place to be on August 27th from 10 AM - 2 PM as folks young and young-at-heart will get a chance to check out these vehicles for themselves.

According to the Touch A Truck for the Town Of Carmel event page, there will be plenty of vehicles to check out.

"Largest TOUCH A TRUCK event in the region! Admission is Free! Sit inside fire trucks, police cruisers, tow trucks, tractors, construction equipment, and more."

The Penobscot County Sheriffs will be on hand with one of their cruisers, and kids will have a unique opportunity to sign it.

I vividly remember going to events like these as a kid and having the chance to sit behind the wheel of a big dump truck and a fire engine. To say it was awe-inspiring would be an understatement. With the weather slated to be just about ideal, an event like this would be a great way to fit in making some last-minute memories this summer.

It's not just the Touch A Truck that's going on in Carmel this weekend. They have a number of other events worth checking out, too, like their Community Wide Yardsale and the Open House taking place at the Carmel Historical Museum and Simpson Memorial Library.

There will also be food for sale at these events.
