This morning during the More Music Morning show, we had Dr. James Jarvis from Northern Light Eastern Mane Medical Center in to tell us the latest info on the latest strain of human coronavirus, also known as Covid-19. (fun fact, you can sing Covid-19 to the tune of Come on, Eileen...it makes it less scary)

There were a few takeaways this morning from our chat. The #1 thing that jumped out at me, was how much misinformation there is surrounding hand sanitizer. I've seen meme after meme on social media claiming that's it's no use against the coronavirus.

Dr. Jarvis discussed how some companies, in an effort to protect themselves legally, have implied there is no 100% guarantee that it will prevent Covid-19. People have twisted it around to mean all sorts of things. The worst, being that it's totally ineffective. but Dr. Jarvis encourages people to use it often.

He also mentioned that when it comes to standard handwashing, you also might want to wash them a bit longer. The normal standard would be for 20 seconds. But, at this time, we should all err on the side of caution, and wash them for around 40 seconds. As they say... an ounce of prevention, is worth a pound of cure.

If you want to know more, I've added the audio from this morning's interview. Feel free to check it out here to get properly informed. And then go wash your hands!
