The University of Maine Police Department issued what they're calling a "Timely Warning" notification Thursday afternoon, following what authorities classified a case of domestic violence stalking.

The alert first went out over their Facebook Page, directing people to their website where they went into further detail, stating that the warning came after an incident earlier in the week.

"On Monday, November 10, 2025, the University of Maine Police Department (UMPD) received a report of harassment involving two individuals with a prior relationship. The incident occurred inside Alumni Hall at the University of Maine in Orono. At 3:30 PM on Thursday, November 13, 2025, UMPD obtained additional information that elevated the circumstances to a case of domestic violence stalking."

Authorities issued a male individual with a criminal trespass notice, which means he is not allowed anywhere on University Of Maine property.

They went on to describe the individual in question, who is unaffiliated with the University, as being a white man, 5'8" tall, with a thin build, weighing about 180 lbs. The man is in his 50s, with brown hair (medium length) and brown eyes.

Officials with the University of Maine Police Department did release a PDF with photos of the individual and his vehicle, but state that they do not believe this person poses a direct threat to other students, members of the faculty or UMaine community or the public at large.
