Originally, Downeast Transportation was only going to suspend operations through November 15th, but because of "several positive cases of Covid-19 among our employees and out of an abundance of caution Downeast Transportation will pause all operations for two weeks beginning November 8, 2020. We plan to resume operation on Monday, November 23." This was announced on Facebook on November 14th

Downeast Transportation announced on Saturday morning, November 7th that they are suspending all operations including the Business Office through Sunday, November 15th because of an employee having a positive COVID-19 test.

Paul Murphy the Executive Director said

“Although not required to by the Maine CDC, we are taking this action out of an abundance of caution. We have notified all members of the public who may have come in contact with our employee as well as our business partners. All buses and facilities will be thoroughly disinfected and cleaned during the service suspension. "
