Emera Maine has scheduled work for this Saturday, December 29th, and it will effect customers in Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Deer Isle, Penobscot, Sedgwick, and Stonington.

The work will begin at 11:59 P.M, just before midnight, and last approximately 4 and-a-half hours into Sunday morning.  Rain date will be Sunday night at 11:59 P.M.

According to a press release, the company will be "replacing 6.5 miles of aging electrical line with larger gauge covered wire as part of a rebuilding project in Surry and Blue Hill.  The project aims to improve overall reliability of service by reducing the number of outages associated with line breaks and contact by trees and branches."

Customers may experience power interruptions while work is being done.
