EMMC Champion the Cure Challenge supports local cancer research and patient care, and they are ready for the 2021 kickoff. On wednesday, March 24th at 6:30pm, there will be a zoom call with all the information you need to get invovled.

Here are some highlights from pervious years, including the virtual event in 2020.

The Champion the Cure Challenge began in 2010 to support cancer research at EMMC Cancer Care, now Northern Light Cancer Care. The inaugural EMMC Champion the Cure Challenge met its very first fundraising goal of $100,000. This event has raised more than $5.1 million over the past eleven years.

The big events are the 2021 Run/Cycle, on Saturday, August 14th, at Lafayette Family Cancer Institute in Brewer. Online registration closes at 5 pm on August 13th. Runners may still register on event day from 6:30 to 8 am, and bicyclists can register on event day until 6:30 am. On-site check in and registration will begin at 5am.

The 2021 Walk will be held on Sunday, August 15th, at Lafayette Family Cancer Institute in Brewer.Online registration closes at 5 pm on August 13th. Walkers may still register on event day from 6:30am - 1:30pm.

The Paddle event will take place on Sunday, September 12th, and the Horseback Trail Ride will be held on Saturday, September 18th.

Champion the Cure has something for everyone. A walk or run: 1K, 5K, or 10K, bicycle ride: 12, 25, 50, 75, or 100 miles. You can be a virtual participant, or a volunteer!
