For those a little less fortunate and for those that are feeling alone, there are free Thanksgiving dinners and fellowship awaiting you in Ellsworth.

The 3rd Annual Free Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner will take place for the elderly and less fortunate of Hancock County at the Ellsworth Elks Lodge at 317 High Street between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.  According to event organizer Don Clark, last year's dinner served over 225 folks.  Of course it will include turkey and all the fixings!  Rides are available and so are deliveries for shut-ins in the immediate Ellsworth area.  This dinner would not be possible without donations from the local community.  If you'd like to donate,  need a ride, would like to schedule a delivery, or need further information, then please call Don at 667-2419 or 460-1121.

The Ellsworth VFW will be hosting a Thanksgiving dinner this Saturday, 11/22/14, beginning at 12 noon for the elderly and all retirees.  They're at 419 Main Street, out on what is otherwise known as the Washington Junction Road.  Just show up hungry!  For more information call 667-7634.

The Emmaus Homeless Shelter and the Riverside Cafe will hold what has turned into an annual tradition, the "Good Day To Be Thankful, Bad Day To Be A Turkey" Thanksgiving Day Dinner!  It's free and open to the public between 12 and 3 p.m. It's free and open to the public.  For more information give the Emmaus Shelter a call at 667-3962.
