The popular Bangor pub, brewery and eatery is one of three Maine businesses awarded the 2016 honor.

At a ceremony at the Blaine House in Augusta yesterday, Governor Paul LePage said, "These businesses represent the best of the best here in Maine. All three of these businesses honored today are dedicated to quality workmanship, maintaining a loyal and dedicated workforce, and giving back to the community. I thank each of them for doing business in our state and for serving as a great example for other Maine businesses."

Also receiving the award this year is Systems Engineering in Portland, an IT based company,  and Landry/French Construction Company in Scarborough.

Geaghan's Pub & Craft Brewery located on Main Street in Bangor with a tasting room on Abbott Street in Brewer is one of the most popular breweries in the state!  Congratulations to this great area business!

According to a press release from the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development,  Geaghan's Pub started out in 1975 with just 15 employees. 41 years later, the restaurant and brewery now employees over 85 employees, and is seeing its third generation of family ownership. Dedication and commitment to the Greater Bangor community, their employees and industry have always been at the forefront of the Geaghan operation. Over the years, the Geaghan brothers more than perfected their trade and as a result, have built Geaghan's Pub into one of the most successful and longest established pubs in Maine. The Geaghan family was also just named Maine Restaurant Association's 2016 Restaurateurs of the Year.
