When Mother Nature cooperates, summer evenings in Maine can be some of the best, especially with the addition of some live music and food.

That's the thought behind this year's outdoor concert series at Lakeside Landing. The Glenburn Parks & Rec Department has put together a number of "Lakeside Music Series" concerts, which kicked off in June.

Glenburn Parks & Rec Director, Carey Besse, says the events are free, family-friendly, and a lot of fun.

The next evening of music is coming up this Thursday and will feature the music of Larry and Leslie Latour at 4 PM and then Just Us will perform at 6:30 PM.

Folks are invited to bring their lawn chairs and blankets, cash for the snacks "and their smiles."

The concert will take place rain or shine, and weather permitting, they will also have the Glenburn Fire Department on hand to oversee a bonfire, too.

Along with the music, Thursday's event will host the Smoke & Steel on Wheels and Darling's Ice cream food trucks with food available for sale.

They will also have a big Besse says people may want to head over a little early, as parking for the event is limited.

The Lakeside Music Series will also have concerts on August 3rd, August 17th, and August 31st.

9 Closed Maine Amusement & Water Parks

We have put together a list of now closed amusement parks and water parks. Some of these were in operation in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s... Some haven't been around for over a century. ***Keep in mind that some of the information regarding when these places were open and what they offered comes from listener comments and stories passed down by people who visited (or worked at) these parks.
