Clean It All Out! Habitat For Humanity Of Greater Bangor Accepts Home Goods & Cars!
After spending an entire week home with my 4 kids over February break, there's nothing more I want to do right now than clean and purge my house!

It just so happens, that one of the ways they raise money to build these homes is by collecting things that you no longer want in yours, and reselling them at their Habitat For Humanity ReStore.
Do you have an old car, boat, or RV sitting in your yard collecting dust? Are you trying to find something useful to do with it?
Habitat For Humanity of the Greater Bangor Area has a program called "Cars For Homes". It's a vehicle donation program. The idea behind it is pretty simple:
1.) You donate the vehicle. (You must have the title to it, in order to make a donation.)
2.) They arrange to come to pick it up (even if it doesn't run) for free.
3.) You get a receipt you can use towards a tax deduction.
4.) They take the car and ultimately turn it into money the organization then uses to help build affordable houses for families in need, in our area.
"We accept almost all vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, farm equipment, and construction equipment."
If you're curious if the program would accept your vehicle, you can always run it through their "donation wizard" to see if it passes muster.
The Cars for Homes program launched in 2005 and has taken in over 160,000 vehicles and in just the last 5 years, they have raised of $72 Million for the Habitat for Humanity organization nationwide.
All the profit generated by the collection of those old cars goes towards building these new homes.
Just think of it, you'll have that space in your home and your driveway free once again, and the satisfaction of knowing your donation goes to help a great cause.
You can find out more about the Cars For Homes program on their website, their Facebook Page, or simply call them at 1-877-277-4344.
