They call it the most important meal of the day, so it's always an important decision as to where to eat it!

We asked our listeners and Facebook followers where their most favorite place to have breakfast in the Bangor area is, and you can tell by the response that folks really LOVE their eggs and coffee! After a very complex tabulation (using our fingers), here's where our listeners favorite breakfast restaurants in the Bangor area are:

#1- Dysarts, on the Coldbrook Road in Hermon, and on Broadway in Bangor.  The truck stop restaurant is known for it's late night or early morning breakfast fare!  Belly up to Dave's Favorite Hash and dig in.

#2- Nicky's Cruisin' Diner on Union Street in Bangor came in a close second, and for good reason!  Not only is the old time 50s & 60s decor kind of groovy but the Big Bopper Breakfasts that are served all day give you a "big" plateful of culinary happiness!  You have to love a menu item called the "Wolfman Jack!"

#3-The Eagle's Nest Restaurant on North Main Street in Brewer will not only give you one of the area's best lobster rolls but also one of the area's best breakfasts!  Dig into the ham and eggs while watching actual eagle's soar over the Penobscot River!  You gotta love it!

#4- Judy's Breakfast & Brunch Restaurant on State Street in Bangor is known for it's casual atmosphere and a great hot and delicious breakfast served up by a friendly staff!  This is the place to go for a Bloody Mary. The restaurant is for sale and so are the eggs!

#5 - The Coffee Break Cafe located at the corner of Route 1A and Western Avenue in Hampden was the next most mentioned by our listeners, mainly because of it's hometown image and of course fabulous homemade breakfasts!  You just know that you have to try one for yourself!

Other honorable mentions went to Governor's on Broadway, The Coach House on Wilson Street in Brewer, and of course Denny's.  Thanks to everyone for participating and happy eating!
