How To Easily Open Up A Frozen Car Lock
If you are like many here in the great state of Maine you car may look like a good sized snow bank. And for many of us we'll spend hours digging out our blessed ride only to find out it has a frozen car lock leaving us stranded still. Don't panic! Here’s an easy fix: use hand sanitizer.
Who knew that little bottle of hand sanitizer could be so useful? Just like on the getting ice off your windshield video the secret ingredient is the rubbing alcohol which lowers the freezing point of water and melts the ice inside the lock almost instantly.
According to Alaska Granny you just apply a couple of drops of the hand sanitizer on your key and gently push the key into the lock. Try to turn or wiggle the key a little at a time to distribute the alcohol inside the lock.
