Over the weekend of April 22 an unidentified suspect or suspects caused some very extensive damage to the Howland Cemetery. Not only were stones knocked over but most were also broken which can be a very expensive fix.
According to the 'Welcome to Lincoln' Facebook post related to the incident:
The Town of Howland is offering a small reward for information leading to the conviction of the person/persons responsible. If you have information please contact the Howland Town Office or Penobscot County Sheriff's Department.
If caught and convicted of criminal mischief, a class-c violation, the vandal(s) could face up to 5 years in jail and be responsible for paying fines.
