Tonight’s mystery artist left his guests to go down to his laundry room and write a song that had come to him. Can you guess the artist sitting on the washer or the tune??

I found this interesting story on Wikipedia as told by John Mellencamp about the song ‘Small Town’ Quoted from an American Songwriter interview he said:

"I wrote that song in the laundry room of my old house. We had company, and I had to go write the song. And the people upstairs could hear me writing and they were all laughing when I came up. They said, 'You've got to be kidding.' What else can you say about it?"

Well, I think we’d all agree now it was time well spent. Small Town that was released on his Scarecrow album in ’85 reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
