A man wanted on a murder charge in Georgia was arrested by Federal agents in Maine.

Maine Authorities Aid U.S. Marshals in Catching a Georgia Murder Suspect

Auburn Police report Dameon Jaquan Thomas, 22, was arrested in Auburn, Maine, on a warrant for murder.

In addition, he's charged by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) for possession of a machine gun in Georgia.

Auburn Police report Thomas is one of several individuals accused of fatally shooting a man during an altercation in Wadley, Georgia, on November 1, 2025.

According to WMTW, the victim was identified as 20-year-old Jer'Tydrick Flournoy.

No details about the altercation have been released.

In mid-February, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation requested assistance from the USMS Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force/Augusta in locating Thomas.

Auburn Police assisted state and Federal authorities in apprehending Thomas without incident.

He's being held in a Maine jail until he can be extradited to Georgia.

Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Kevin Neal for the District of Maine assured criminals that crossing state lines does not constitute escape.

The United State Marshals Service and our law enforcement partners will remain in pursuit. We will locate you, apprehend you, and return you to face justice.

He added that no location is outside their reach.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of a state or federal fugitive is encouraged to contact the U.S. Marshals Service.
